East Indian Dancers-Topper Productions

Traditional East Indian dance has its origins in antiquity and continues in both classical and modern styles into the present. These are composed of nritta (movement), nritya (illustration) and natya (telling of the tale). Apart from the gracious hand & leg postures and movements, dancers have to acquire the skill of portraying various emotions faithfully in each expression
on their face and each fluid movement of their hands, legs and whole body.

Belly dancing is a Western name for an Arabic style of dance developed in the Middle East. Some American devotees refer to it simply as "Middle Eastern Dance". Native to North Africa, Asia and the Middle East, belly dancing is based on one of the oldest social dances in world history. The Aalim Dance Co will teach us about various cultures while also showing us the health benefits of belly dancing as great exercise!

Jazz / Dixieland-Topper Productions

Dixieland music is a style of jazz which developed in New Orleans at the start of the 20th century, and was spread to Chicago and New York City by New Orleans bands in the 1910s. Dixieland jazz combines brass band marches, French quadrilles, ragtime and blues with collective, polyphonic extemporization by trumpet (or cornet), trombone, and clarinet over a "rhythm section" of piano, guitar, banjo, drums and a double bass or tuba.
